Behind The Brand

The School Is Not Closed

March 13: Shelly and I, along with another teacher, stayed late after school. It was a Friday. We were in the gym decorating for the next week's book camp. The eager participants in the upcoming Dr. Seuss Book Camp were signed up. The supplies were bought and ready. As we finished the decorations, we started getting messages that the President had declared a pandemic in our nation. We called in the forces in our families.  Let's divide and conquer. Hit the stores on our way home...just in case. What if we're out of school for a couple of weeks? That's...

I Built My Life Around You

We have talked in the past about our fears. On our Facebook lives we have teased each other about our "irrational" fears. She has a fear of frogs. She will be the first to admit it is irrational. I sat there...

Make It Count

Hello, friends...hoping this finds you all well. Shelly and I are back to school. This is our nineteenth year. YIKES! Where has the time gone? Of course, after this many years, you start contemplating life. It has had me thinking about when I first started teaching. But back up a few years. I was young, married, and had two toddlers. I had started college but really wasn't committed to a major. We were living paycheck to paycheck. I had been feeling the calling to teach...but was trying to ignore it. How could I continue going to college when we needed...
